The Association des MBA du Québec (AMBAQ) is a unique network for MBA students and graduates that aims to promote its members and the value of the MBA title. AMBAQ offers a variety of exchange platforms focused on excellence, leadership and innovation in the field of management. As part of its activities, AMBAQ collects, analyzes, uses, communicates and retains specific personal information about its current, former and potential members, partners and service providers. 

AMBAQ is subject to the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. The purpose of the present Privacy Policy (Policy) is to identify AMBAQ’s practices regarding the collection, analysis, use, communication and retention of personal information. 

Personal information refers to information that can be used to identify you. However, information relating to your position within an organization, such as your name, title and role, as well as your work address, including email and phone number, is not considered personal information. 

By providing your personal information, you agree that this information may be used for the purpose outlined in this Policy.  

1. What kind of information will be collected by AMBAQ?

As part of its activities, AMBAQ may collect and analyze different types of information, including 

-    First and last name;
-    Date of birth;
-    Gender;
-    Ethnicity;
-    Address;
-    Email address(es);
-    Phone number(s);
-    Cellphone number;
-    Employer’s name;
-    University’s name;
-    Title and position;
-    Website (of the company);
-    Language of correspondence;
-    Biographical notes;
-    PDF of Resume and biographical notes;

This information may be collected by AMBAQ by email, phone, its website and/or through a Corporate Member for whom you are an employee. 

2. What will my personal information be used for?

AMBAQ collects, uses, analyzes and retains information for the following purposes: to communicate with you as a member, former member or prospective member regarding membership benefits and participation in its events, to identify your interests, to allow you to take advantage of an exclusive and personalized service, to share promotions and career opportunities and to properly manage its regular operations, including updating your file.

Personal information collected by AMBAQ will also be used for quantitative and qualitative analysis of its members, including but not limited to their profiles, interests and skills. 

3. Who will have access to your personal information?

All permanent and temporary employees, or employees of its primary service providers, as well as board members and volunteer members are required to comply with this Policy. 

AMBAQ also asks all of its service providers to ensure that they have a privacy policy and require them to notify AMBAQ of any breach that may affect the safety and privacy of its members’ personal information. 

AMBAQ pledges not to sell or communicate your personal information to third parties, unless it has obtained your consent. AMBAQ may, however, share personal information with third parties who provide services on its behalf, such as payment processing, website hosting, and organizing contests, promotions and events. AMBAQ may also confirm your membership status to its partners when you wish to benefit from services offered through the partnership between them and AMBAQ.

These third parties may access or process personal information while performing the services they provide to us. AMBAQ limits the information it discloses to these service providers to that which is reasonably necessary for them to perform their functions. Our contracts with these service providers require them to maintain the privacy of such information.

4. What are the limitations of the security measures currently in place?

AMBAQ has implemented security measures to protect the safety and privacy of your personal information. 

However, the internet is not a secure medium that can guarantee the protection of personal information. Therefore, you acknowledge that by using the website, third parties may access, tamper or disclose information to third parties. AMBAQ and its suppliers shall not be liable to anyone for any damage that may be caused as a result of a breach of privacy, confidentiality or security. 

5. How long will my personal information be kept for? 

AMBAQ is not authorized to use or retain your personal information after fulfilling the purposes for which the personal information was collected.

7. Consent to use my personal information

AMBAQ requires your consent to use your personal information for purposes other than those identified in Section 2 or to disclose your personal information to third parties other than our service providers or representatives.
